Educator Externship

The NORIA Educator Externship gives middle and high school teachers, counselors, and CTE staff a behind-the-scenes look at the plants, people, and career paths that keep Louisiana’s economy strong.

The 2026 Educator Externship runs July 14–16. Applications are open now. Earn a $1,000 stipend and bring back real-world industrial knowledge to your students.

THE PROGRAM

Three Days Inside Industry

July 14–16, 2026

DAY 01

Industry Foundations

Welcome & Orientation, Presentations on Safety, Workforce Development, and Products of Industry. Interactive sessions with Industrial Contractors and live demonstrations at ABC New Orleans/Bayou.

DAY 02

Inside the Plant

Guided plant tour hosted by member companies. Observe maintenance, laboratory, logistics, and operations teams. Q&A with plant personnel and leadership.

DAY 03

Connecting to the Classroom

Hands-on curriculum integration activity, Community & Technical College presentation and campus tour. Reflection, feedback, and closing celebration.

*Participants must complete all three days to receive the $1,000 stipend.
