WHAT IT IS

Discover the Future of Louisiana Industry

Journey to Industry is a one-day, hands-on experience that connects 10th grade students with local industrial employers, training providers, and real-world career paths. Students rotate through interactive zones where they can try the tools, meet the people, and see firsthand what high-demand industrial careers look like — from process operations and instrumentation to welding, electrical, and STEM.

WHY IT MATTERS

Careers That Don't Require a Four-Year Degree

Top Employer

Career Pathways

Louisiana’s industrial sector is one of the state’s largest employers — offering high-paying, stable careers with real opportunities for advancement.

Two Years

Technical Training

Most high-demand industrial careers begin with two years of technical training after high school — giving students a faster, more affordable path to a great career.

Local

Right Here in the Region

These aren’t jobs somewhere else. The plants, contractors, and training programs hiring right now are in students’ own communities — in the New Orleans and River Region.

*Participants must complete all three days to receive the $1,000 stipend.
